- Versatile application options. PROVEN 40 can be used in-furrow as a liquid formulation or applied on seed, giving farmers more convenience at planting and a 60-day shelf life before planting. Both products, made and manufactured in the USA, can be shipped directly and quickly to farms.
- Keep in-season nitrogen. PROVEN 40 microbes help spoon-feed ammonium to the roots of corn during vegetative growth, but they cannot fully meet the high daily needs of high-yielding corn on their own. Stick with your in-season nitrogen.
- Optimize soil pH and nutrients to maximize nitrogen replacement potential. PROVEN 40 microbes only provide nitrogen. The corn crop still needs balanced soils and other nutrients. Make sure you’re not shorting your crop of sulfur (or any other nutrients) when replacing nitrogen.

Our farm began trialing Pivot Bio PROVEN40 in 2021 as we were looking to drive corn yields higher. We knew that higher yields meant an additional supply of nitrogen would be needed. We were excited at the opportunity that PROVEN40 presented, as it could catch a ride on the corn planter but still shows up for us during those late reproductive stages. When we were first considering using PROVEN40, we did have concern that the Pivot Bio microbes may not be able to survive in some of the anerobic soil conditions that Ohio is commonly delt. We have found that this is not the case. We have tested PROVEN40 in 7 different counties and have found the results to be positive throughout all soil type variations that we operate on. We farm a little bit of sandier, river bottom ground and this is where the microbe shines. A predictable form of nitrogen on ground that leaches is something I never imagined we would see. Talk about environmentally friendly! Our PROVEN40 is working to increase early season root growth (root systems have not only appeared bigger, but we have been able to increase the number of fine roots as well), increased green coloration of the plant (creating more chlorophyll inside the plant), bigger plant architecture, and better tip-fill come harvest. Bettering each of these physiological components have all lead to a consistent yield advantage of 10-12 bushels year after year, providing a nice ROI when the combine runs.

PivotBio Proven 40 has become a key component in nitrogen management for growers in my area. We have seen significant reduction in the dependency on synthetic nitrogen fertilizer, improved nitrogen management systems with better use efficiency and in some cases, increased yields from the use of PivotBio LIF and OS.

Product fixes N. Have seen it over years of research and use. Best thing is that I can cut N without concern and get more non-N nutrients into the plant.

We've been using Pivot Bio PROVEN40 for six years, starting with a trial in 2020. The results were clear—thicker stalks, more root mass, healthier green plants all the way into harvest, and a consistent yield advantage of 4-10 bushels per acre. For best results, it’s important to cut back starter N fertilizer (we use liquid) by 40 lbs/acre—and the fact that we can do this while still seeing strong ROI and yield benefits is a big deal. Take a look at the photos attached—the treated plants are on the left, and the untreated are on the right. The difference PROVEN40 makes is obvious! Stronger, healthier plants that stand out all season long. In the video, you’ll see Levi showing just how green and healthy our plants looked at harvest, even after a freeze the night before. The ears are also still upright, these plants were still very much alive and thriving when we harvested. That’s the kind of resilience and performance PROVEN40 delivers. On our farm, every product we apply has to prove its worth through rigorous trials and testing. PROVEN40 has done just that, earning its place on every acre of our corn. It’s a game-changer for efficiency, sustainability, and profitability.

We have used the on seed version as we are not set up for in furrow. Just like to plant and GO in the spring. What we have noticed is that every corn seed we plant has access to the nitrogen. 2024 we had heavy rains and at least we know the proven 40 money we spent got into our corn crop- can’t say that about our NH3 this past year. Its takes the Epps and flows of different soil types etc and makes the field variability’s even out. Thats what we have seen. Low areas split planter very noticeable. If I had to design a perfect N it would be on the roots, slow feed the corn, didn’t lose it- and that is what this product is. No brainer to incorporate it into our plan. We dont apply a sidedress so this helps. Good way to diversify our N program. Shift the risk.
