As an organic and conventional Pest Management Advisor in California, when we use a fire blight product in apples (and pears), Cueva has become a valuable part of our fire blight strategy. It’s not something we use in every application, but we begin rotating it at 2 quarts per acre after king bloom, and it’s proven to be a strong asset in controlling fire blight. Cueva + other effective bactericide/fungicides, aids in a solid copper-based disease control while still being easy to work with—it mixes well, handles easily in the tank, and doesn’t require a closed mixing/loading system, though we always follow PPE guidelines. One thing we’ve especially noticed is that it is less likely to cause russeting in apples. Overall, Cueva has earned its place in many programs with other conventional and organic usage in apple products as a dependable and user-friendly tool for fire blight management in apple production.
