Kelp Boost is a natural, soluble seaweed fertilizer that significantly improves the transplanting success of seedlings, bare root plants and the survival of other tender plants. Through the introduction of naturally occurring auxins, cytokinins, and phytohormones, Kelp Boost helps in the production of more noticeably vigorous plants with sturdy and well-developed root systems using nutrients that are found in sea vegetation.

Application

Kelp Boost can be applied to soil via irrigation before and after planting to promote active root development in crops. Use 3.8 ml (3/4 tsp) of product with one gallon (1 gal) of water to dilute Kelp Boost. It can also be used in other quantities, respecting the dilution rate of 1:1,000 of product to water. After dilution, irrigate the product into the soil. Do not apply prior to excessive rains, since this may reduce product effectiveness.

Active Ingredients

Kelp Boost contains the extracts of three brown kelps. These extracts go through a process that mechanically extracts the compounds within seaweed resulting in preservation of important phytohormones, enzymes, and amino acids that stimulate plant growth. Brown kelp extracts play a vital role in maintaining soil fertility and achieving higher crop yields through the supply of natural growth promoting compounds.

Because algae can grow very rapidly in lakes, causing anoxic conditions in water, avoid disposing into drainage systems. Appropriate land management practices should be used at all times with any fertilizer; this material should be prevented from entering public or private water supplies (including wells) and any lake, stream, or river. This product is made from naturally derived ingredients and is non-toxic when used as directed.

Mode of Action

Kelp Boost functions as a natural biostimulant, providing the plant with important phytohomones that signal the plant to rapidly grow. Indole precursors function as natural root accelerants, providing a larger root mass to increase the amount of water and nutrients the plant can absorb. The seaweed extract contained achieves faster growth rates via cytokinin-auxin signaling. At the rhizosphere level, seaweed stimulates the growth of beneficial microorganisms that aid in nutrient absorption and protects the plant/crop from pathogens. Seaweed also promotes plant restoration from abiotic stress as well, increasing environmental stress immunity.
